First Cardiac MRI workshop in Ethiopian Ayder University Hospital performed
The Cardiologist Dr. Christian Leuner und the radiographer Simon Hamza from Germany started Cardiac MRI in Ethiopia
A first multi-day workshop for examining the heart using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was conducted by Etiopia-Witten in August 2019 at the Ayder University Hospital in Mekelle, Ethiopia, under the direction of the cardiologist Dr. Christian Leuner and the medical-radiological assistant Simon Hamza from Bielefeld. The local MRI technicians were introduced to the conduct of the examination and an Ethiopian cardiologist at Ayder Hospital was introduced to the basics of medical assessment of the images obtained.
